I started to show Spaniels at my 12 and I used to breed English Cocker Spaniels for 15 years. Since 2002 I breed Azawakhs under INSOLENS affix. I have breed and own International, European, Romanian, Hungarian, Spanish, Gibraltar and Portugal Champions.
For a decade, I have been involved in Carpatin Romanian Shepherd as an owner, a club judge, a board member of the National Club, but also as one of the authors of the breed standard . In 2006 I was awarded by the Romanian Kennel Club for my contribution to the standardization of the Romanian Shepherds.
As the Vice President of the Mures County Kennel Club I’m one of the organizers of the “DDS-Winner” – the most important show in my country. I’m also a member of the Romanian Kennel Club Technical Commission and of the World Dog Press Association.
I wrote several articles about inheritance and anatomy in various magazines and for breed club seminars.
Since 1998 I have been privileged to judge international shows, specialty shows and BIS in almost every European country, Russia and Israel.
.
In my private life I share the passion for dogs with the passion for Ioana, my wife, who tries to accept all the “lost” weekends when I’m judging or I’m showing my dogs.

I found your site, from some photo from DDS report. It’s really great site. Many, many interesting items, not only for dogs fan. I like it. Keep going
Congratulations, Cristi! You are one from the few referees that i’m proud of! i can hardly wait for you to judge my dog!
nice blog. i hope to see more pictures of your azawakhs!
best regards!
Congratulations and hope not to change and stay the same vertical and good referee!
I’ve been in love with sighthounds forever and I own a greyhound, very sweet and lovely but definitely not a guard dog. I’m very interested to know more about Azawakh hound but I found very little info about it here in USA. Any sugestions? This breed is in its infancy in USA and understandably very little is known about this dog’s ability as a performer. A few owners I spoke to, commended this dog for its ability as a family guard dog. Question: on a scale from 1 to 10, where would you place this dog’s ability as a guard dog?
ps: I could write in Romanian but my keyboard would make it look rather incomplete and cumbersome to read.
depends what you expect from a guard dog ? If it’s about alertness it’s a 10 becouse there are no other breed more suspicious with the strangers than the Azawakh but if it’s about discipline it’s only a 4.
A judge who is always looking to perfect his knowledge is admirable. My friendly congrats and all the best, Cristi , keep up the good work!
Hello Christi,
Hope to see you one day at a FCC show in Canada !
I’ve enjoyed your interpretation of the Azawakh standard.
Congrats
